Dr. S N Rao

Dr. S. N. Rao, Principal of the institution, is an accomplished academician and researcher with over 15 years of teaching experience. He completed his M.Tech and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras, one of India’s premier technical institutions. His foundational education was at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, which played a significant role in shaping his discipline, determination, and commitment to excellence.

Dr. Rao’s research expertise lies in the mechanical behavior of biomedical materials, a multidisciplinary field that integrates mechanical engineering principles with medical applications. His work focuses on understanding and enhancing the performance of materials used in healthcare applications.

He is currently engaged in collaborative research with faculty from IIT Madras in developing a portable breast cancer detection device, aimed at making early diagnosis more accessible, affordable, and reliable. In addition, he is collaborating with faculty from IIT Palakkad on advanced modeling of biomedical materials, contributing to innovative solutions in biomedical engineering.

As a leader, Dr. Rao strongly believes that education should extend beyond classroom instruction. Under his guidance, the institution promotes research-driven learning, academic collaborations, innovation, ethical values, and social responsibility. His vision is to transform the college into a vibrant center of higher learning where students develop not only technical expertise but also character, confidence, and societal commitment.
